AZ Tamil Sangam - Diwali Celebration
Last week, I was there in AZ Tamil Sangam Diwali celebrations as my relation kid was participating in "Mazhalai Ramayanam". It was a kool function with 3 hrs of non stop entertainment. Couples did sing well and they have trained their kids a lot, especially to speak tamil well. US Interstate 2nd prize winner, an eight year old kid played rahman's "mustafa" and "kaloori salai" on his keyboard. this kid is learning piano from his 4th age and he almost reproduced the original rahman key strokes. amazing it was. it seems he has worked weeks to synthesize and store parallel tracks on his keyboard. Dance programs were also good.
The whole gathering of 300 to 400 tamils were given wonderful Food package ( Courtsey: Karaikudi cooks at Udupi Cafe, Tempe, AZ) containing Poori/Kelangu Masaal ( Am eating after a year time), Medhu Vadai/Kaetee Chutney (after 6 months pause), Manakum Sambhar Rice and Curd Rice.
I had taken my digital camera. as usual, the whole stageCheck out couple of pics...
